Y
ou don't know how you arrived here. What you remember of your past is foggy at best. All you know for certain now, is that you were chosen for a journey you didn't ask for. You arrive in Providence in a ruined keep on a hill. Here, you discover a single token of help: a Ring of Power. It calls to you, and brings out a power and potential you may not have known you ever had. There is an unknown force that threatens to consume this world. You have been tasked by a mysterious entity, only known as the 'Benefactor', to stop this force of destruction. But how you go about that is very much up to you.

Providence RP is a "people-with-powers" roleplay that focuses on exploring a chaotic world and making the unknown known. It is a world of imagination and strength of will, where belief and expectation play a major role in shaping reality itself.

There was a new town, or outpost rather, being built in the middle of a swamp. When they didn’t need lumber and sap, they needed metal. Matias hardly had a choice in what he made in his blacksmith these days, and the work was tiring. At least, it grew tiring when his coworkers left for the day. Matias always worked an extra few hours into the day, finishing the last of a quota or adjusting the work on a delicate piece. When it came down to dependability, the weight was on Matias’s shoulders.

There were piles of nails and rivets carefully stacked in cartons by the door, for the next day’s couriers to pick up. Beside it were iron poles tied together, for fencing. Iron and steel ingots, to be processed tomorrow, covered the other side of the door. Were one to open it, the door would only swing half way before striking the immovable pile of metal.

Yet someone did open it, and the dangling chime over the door informed the blacksmith. Turning away from rumbling furnace, Matias quickly quenched a bar of hot metal before letting go of his thongs.

“Hello there,” he smiled at the young girl who came in. He had no idea what this young woman would want out of his blacksmith, but he was happy all the same to see a visitor.

“How can I help you? I’m Matias, the blacksmith,” he said, his words as worn and practiced as an old pair of shoes.

Finally, her shift was done for the day. A rather grueling day of furious patrons and fisticuffs thrown. She would've said something, but the action frightened her more. Even her calming ring power wasn't enough to fully quell the situation. Fortunately the barkeep had a commanding voice. They had to then kick out everybody who flung a fist, as no one knew who instigated it. All that were left were the cowards, pressed tightly against the wall or hiding under any table that wasn't flipped, broken, or used as weapons.

She was so tired after cleaning up everything (not by herself, of course) and her nerves were so burnt out that she wasn't surprised, scared, or startled by anything that happened as she walked through town, trying to find a quiet place, but not having enough energy to leave town and find peace there. Not like she'd survive for long anyway outside of town. She had no fighting skills, and her abilities were completely passive.

Blindly, she reached one of the many indoor shops that was situated in the bustling market, opening the door but not paying attention that it didn't open the entire way. She paused, looking at it, then tried again. It gave the same result. Something must've been behind it then.

What did garner her attention was the sudden voice, most likely aimed at her. She looked up to find a young man, standing by a hearth with a pair of tongs in hand. His smile was kind and gentle, the sort of smile a friend might give. She straightened, stiffened her muscles. How did she end up here?

"Uh, hi." she said, waving weakly. She would've ran, but didn't quite have the energy for it. He introduced himself, she may as well do the same. "I-I'm K-Kintaselia. Or j-just Kint works, t-t-too." her voice lost it's confidence at the end, coming out weak and dry.
